Introducing Susan: Meet the Egg Helpers Staff

This week we're continuing to introduce you to some of Egg Helper's key players that are a part of our staff. As a donor or an Intended Parent, you will have direct contact with certain staff members, and for others, they play a behind the scenes role to help support our mission. No matter their role, everyone on our team is inspired by the selfless generosity of our donors and are here to help make this a rewarding experience for everyone involved.

Name: Susan Bowman
Position: Human Resource Generalist

What led you to Egg Helpers and how long have you been here?

I was looking to work closer to home and this great opportunity came up. I've been here just shy of 3 months.

What does your day-to-day job include?

I handle all general employee relations, organizational development, procedures and employment.

What is your outside of work-life like?

It's busy and full, and I wouldn't have it any other way!​

Do you have any hobbies or fun family stories?

I love to kayak, I'm an obsessive gardener and I also refinish/repurpose old furniture.

Favourite foods or movies?

I have a cheesecake recipe that dates back 3 generations in my family. It has ruined me for all other cheesecake. I have two favourite movies at opposite ends of the movie spectrum – The Goonies and The Shawshank Redemption.

When would an Egg Helpers client contact you?

I don't have any direct contact with Egg Helper's clientele, but I support the organization from within.

Have you been an egg donor?

While I have never been an egg donor myself, I'm familiar with fertility struggles. I'm so grateful and in awe of the amazing women who donate their eggs so selflessly.

What is your favourite thing about your job?

It's definitely all the wonderful people I get to work with everyday.
